Family; as a child the man who adopted Ginna told her it was the most important faction she would ever belong to. When all else in her life fell apart, her family would be there for her to fall back on, but her brother Brutus never took anything their father taught them to heart. Ever since they were children he’s gone out of his way to make her life miserable, but now that they’re grown he’s pushed his vendetta against Ginna to the limit.
After discovering their unique Daedric parentage, Brutus has promised to destroy everything Ginna has ever loved. Ginna wants nothing more than to separate herself from her new family, including her husband Brynjolf, in order to keep them safe, but families have to stick together and she couldn’t walk away from them even if she tried.
The fact that she’s carrying his child has Brynjolf on high alert, and even though she wears an amulet that will keep her unborn baby safe, he won’t even let her go to the bathroom by herself. And forget trying to slip out while he’s sleeping. He’s got guildmembers guarding them both, and there’s not a moment she’s not within their sight.
On a quest to find her real father and retrieve her mother’s Bow of Shadows, she finds herself searching for some way to get under Brutus’s skin, some weakness that will make him an easier target, but how does one hurt a man who holds nothing close to his heart? Discovering his one weakness through chance, Ginna must step back and ask herself how much like Brutus she really is, and determine whether or not she has what it takes to end the feud between them once and for all.
